ISO 9001 Consultants

ISO 9001 is the standard most of our clients start with, usually because a customer or a tender has asked for it. It's a quality management system: a documented, audited way of showing your business does what it says it does, catches its own mistakes and fixes them.

Some consultants treat that as a paperwork exercise. We don't, because the paperwork version fails - maybe not at the first audit, but at the second or third, and long before that your team will have stopped using it.

What we build

A working system, sized to your business. Process maps your supervisors recognise. A non-conformance routine that people actually log things in. Supplier controls that reflect who you really buy from. Management review that takes an hour and ends in decisions, not minutes nobody reads.

The standard asks for far less documentation than most consultants produce. We write the minimum that passes and works.

How it goes

1. Gap analysis. A day or two on your site, comparing what you already do against the standard. You get a plain-English report and a fixed quote for the rest.
2. Build. We close the gaps with your team - usually three to six months, depending on size and what already exists.
3. Certification. A UKAS-accredited certification body audits you in two stages. We prepare you for both and we're on hand when they happen.

Most SMEs go from first call to certificate in 4-8 months. The fee is fixed after the gap analysis, so there's no day-rate drift.

Who's asking you for it

Nine times out of ten it's a customer: an approved-supplier questionnaire, a PQQ, a big contract that says "ISO 9001 certified" in the conditions. Manufacturing supply chains increasingly won't onboard without it. If that's the position you're in, tell us your deadline and we'll tell you honestly whether it's achievable.

Already certified but the system's a mess?

We take on plenty of rescue jobs - systems inherited from a previous manager, or built by a consultant who vanished. A recertification or surveillance audit due date focuses the mind; we can usually get an inherited system back into shape without starting again.
